From Croatia to Italy and Spain, this type of wooden vessel appears under many names—legut, levut, leuto, leudo, laudus, and more—all derived from the Italian word legno (wood).

As the largest traditional Adriatic boat, Trajta vessels reached up to 12 meters in length and carried up to 10 tons, making them essential for fishing, cargo transport, and coastal navigation.

Trajta shares many structural traits with the famous gajeta, making the two vessels historically difficult to distinguish.
